the waiting game

hey everyone! hannah here. hopefully my last two blog posts where i copied my dad's emails got everyone up to date. nathan was discharged from the hospital yesterday and has been getting some MUCH needed rest at my dad and debbie's home. they have totally set him up with groceries, food, blankets, and anything else he could ever need!

we've been waiting eagerly all day to hear when nathan's first appointment (consultation) would be at vanderbilt hospital and we just got word that it will be wednesday morning. this will not be when his surgery is, just an initial meeting to go over his plan and hopefully get a surgery date. we are all waiting to make final plans on hotels, babysitters, etc until we have a date for surgery.

nathan is doing really well, all things considered. he's definitely fearful of surgery (who wouldn't be!?) but in true warrior nathan fashion, is ready for the challenge. i feel like he has taken on the attitude of an AWESOME gospel song i heard today called "war" by pastor charles jenkins:

I got joy in my soul
God is in control

I got satan on my trail
But I'm singing all is well
He's attacking everyday
But I'm watching while I pray
No matter the attack
I won't turn back
This means war...This means war
This means war...This means war

its an awesome song. highly suggest downloading. but this means war y'all.

i've also gotten a ton of texts of everyone asking how elizabeth is and you guys….. i don't even know what to say. elizabeth has freaking stepped up. when she's meeting with doctors, she's taking notes. she's trying to figure out how to pay (like literally how to get online and do it) bills, she's got reminders set for nathan to take his meds, you name it, she's on it! her courage is ASTOUNDING. i love this girl and am more grateful for her than ever. i'd be lying to say she isn't afraid, but her faith is speaking volumes right now.

many people have also expressed interest in wondering how to help. well! the days surrounding nathan's surgery, we will need babysitters in nashville for our combined 5 kids under 21 months. it's definitely going to be a deal where we need several people at once. we also are in the process of setting up a gofundme page to help nathan and elizabeth with medical expenses and we will post that link soon!

thank you thank you thank you to everyone that has reached out and prayed and cried with us. i have never been so blind sighted in my entire life. i also don't know anyone better equipped for this journey.. #teamnatedog #thismeanswar #brainhops

love and peace,
hannah
